Tombs of the Blind Dead Review

Chapter 7: Let's Play A Little

Tombs of the Blind Dead

The scene changes to the morgue where a side story develops. Here we see the morgue attendant (which I lovingly refer to as Saddam) playing with (or torturing) a pet frog he keeps in a bowl. Just then, two male attendants bring in Virginia's body, returning it from the autopsy. The attendant remarks that they are late and they reply that the doctor "took extra time with this one." Saddam asks whether anything interesting has been learned. "Nothing but the bite marks" is the reply. One of the enlightened attendants says, "She asked for it, dressed like that." He continues, "They want to be bitten. She did."

The attendants leave and a bird in a cage begins to fly around, as if disturbed. Behind them, but out of sight, Virginia's corpse is stirring on the examination table. Saddam calms the bird and turns his attention again to the frog, telling it, "Let's play a little." As he begins again to play with his buddy, Virginia returns as a zombie. She creeps up behind Saddam and bites him on the neck, draining him of his blood.
