Soulcutter: The Sword of Despair

Fred Saberhagen

More reviews here

From The Song of Swords

The Tyrant's Blade hath no blood spilled
But doth the spirit carve,
Soulcutter hath no body killed,
But many left to starve.

Soulcutter's Characteristics:

Identifying Hilt Mark: None.
Power: Produces an area of apathy and despair from which no one, unless armed with Shieldbreaker, can escape.
Sound Made When Activated: None.
Trivia: When employed by Queen Yambu against the forces of King Vilkata, it was able to counteract and defeat the Mindsword, Third Book of Swords.
Disadvantages: Destroys the wielder as well as the enemy.

Soulcutter makes appearances in the original books of Swords, and particularly in the Third Book of Swords. I recommend the First Book of Swords, Second Book of Swords, and Third Book of Swords to gain a more complete understanding.
