Apache Indian Prisoner of War Cemetery

According to the Wikipedia online encyclopedia, the cemetery in which these graves lie is the Apache Indian Prisoner of War Cemetery. I've been there a few times and I can't recall seeing that name at this particular cemetery, but for now I'll take their word for it.

The left photo is a closeup of the plaque on Geronimo's grave cairn. The cairn is topped with an eagle and is a rough pyramid. I have other pictures of the entire site that I cannot locate at this time, but I hope to have them up in the future.

Wikipedia and Online Sources
  • Read the Wikipedia entry for Geronimo here.
  • More pictures are online at a web page called Findagrave.com.
The bottom picture is also from a cemetery at Fort Sill. It was such poor quality that I had to publish it in black and white.

As I recall, the following picture is from the same cemetery, but there's another cemetery just a few miles away and the pic may have been taken there - I can't recall. The photo is the grave of Geronimo's wife.
