Millard's Crossing Historical Village

I recently (September 2006) visited Nacogdoches, Texas for the first time. I've driven by it and around it for years, but this was the first time that work took me inside the city limits. All I really knew about it was that it is on the site of an old Indian settlement and that, sadly, parts of the space shuttle had fallen around town a few years ago. The picture is of an old Methodist chapel, circa 1905, that is part of a historical village in Nacogdoches called Millard's Crossing. Their website is here.

Millard's Crossing

"The white wooden chapel was built by a Free Methodist congregation (in 1905) and used into the 1950s. The quaint chapel is currently available as a rental facility for weddings."

MC

According to the MC village, this caboose dates to the early 1900's and was part of train that was chartered in 1905 to haul logs - big business in East Texas.  It was employed by the Nacogdoches and Southeastern Railroad Line and later owned by the Frost-Johnson Lumber Company.  Check out the Millard's Crossing home page for extensive information about their attractions.
