2039 A.D.

I got an email yesterday and it was a funny collection of what the headline news might be in the year 2039. I've already forgotten most of what was written in it, but it sure brought some other thoughts to my mind.

Here are a few simple facts related to the headlines of the year 2039:

1. I had to get the calculator to do it, but I figured out that if I live to see the headlines in 2039, I'll be 70 years old.
2. Although many people will be alive then, human lifespan makes it a certainty that many of the people I know will not see the headlines in 2039. If it's your birthday tomorrow and you're going to turn 100 years old, you're not going to see 2039.
3. A third fact associated with 2039 is that some of the ones who aren't alive then will be in hell.
4. A fourth fact is that some of the ones who aren't alive will be in heaven, assuming that the Lord doesn't come back before then. If He does, they'll be here living in the kingdom.
5. The fifth fact is that the Bible will be just as true in 2039 as it is right now.
6. The sixth fact is that even if you aren't physically alive in 2039, you can know for a certainty that you will live again, physically. Romans 8:11 tells us how we can know for absolute certain.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

What does this mean? Him that raised up Jesus from the dead is God Almighty.

The Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead is the Holy Spirit.

If that Holy Spirit dwells in you, it's a certainty according to the Bible that God will quicken, or make alive, your mortal body by His Spirit which dwells in you.

What does that mean? In one sense, it means this mortal body is made alive spiritually with a new birth and new nature. It's a child of God. Romans 8:15 says it contains the spirit of adoption and it knows that God is its Father.

In another sense, it speaks of the resurrection at which we will be made alive to receive those news bodies that God will adopt into His family.

Where will you and your family and friends be in 2039, 32 years away? There are a limited number of possibilities.

You can be here on earth reading the headline news!

You can be in hell.

It is possible that you could be on earth in the millennial kingdom.

Last, it is possible that you could be in heaven or paradise awaiting the resurrection of the body.

It's not possible to know for sure if you'll still be alive on earth in 2039. It's not possible to know for sure if you'll be in the millennial kingdom in 2039.

It's not possible to know the exact date that you might go to hell or heaven, but it is possible to know IF you're going to either place.

Does the Holy Spirit of God dwell within you? You know for absolute certain if He does or does not, because you know when/if you repented of sin to trust Jesus. If you have done that, you were quickened (brought to life) spiritually, and it's assured that you will be raised physically in the resurrection of life.

If you think about it, 2039 and every other year is actually going to be a good year for every saved soul. If I'm alive then I've got heaven to look forward to.

If I get carried out to the cemetery tomorrow or next year, I've got the resurrection to look forward to.

Whether or not I'm here or there matters very little.

What matters most is whether you've got the Spirit of God dwelling in you! Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9b)
