Bong? Hookah? Nah, Just A Wine Bottle
"Hookah" is my pet name for this bottle, which (according to bottle collectors) is an old wine bottle that simply mimics the design of a pipe. Apparently the "bowl," which does not connect to the "stem" in any way, was used to hold ice. I have been told that places such as Pier One still carry these kinds of bottles. It is dated somewhere from the 1960's to the 1970's, and the general opinion seems to be that they come from Mexico. These bottles originally had a grass corked lid. Mine is missing the lid, but still has the original weaving on the bottom. An interesting piece.
