Pictures Of Wildlife And The Wildlife Refuge

Slideshow Description
- Picture 1 - Armadillos! The little guys were not headed to Texas, but were doing plenty of rooting around in Oklahoma. I've always heard they have a natural vitamin-k deficiency and are in a never ending search for it. Near Paris, Texas there was a military fort called Fort Maxey, back in WW2. As I understand it, the fort held German POW's in the war who had never seen an armadillo. When they finally did, they nicknamed them "Panzer Rats" (armored rats)!
- Picture 2 - Hawk. At first I thought it was a gold eagle, but the sign claimed it as a hawk. There was also a vulture here, but his picture didn't come out very well. The fowls here are being nursed back to health for one reason or another.
- Picture 3 - The front of the refuge at Beaver's Bend Park.
- Picture 4 - Rear photo of the refuge.
- Picture 5 - Stairs leading to the rear of the refuge.
